There was a barbecue last night, and that helped. For one thing, Phil was in town, so I got a hug. Hugs help things, hugs make your feet touch the ground for real and stuff. I met lots of people and they were kind, and like i said before: it's all going to be ok. I tried to rock back and forth on Ian's ramp and that didn't go so hot. The look on the boy's face that helped me up made me think maybe I had hurt myself worse than it felt, and that maybe i was just too drunk to appreciate it.. and then a few minutes later I realized the safety pin that had been holding my pants up was kinda embedded in my belly, which seemed like it definitely should have hurt. So i was expecting to wake up this morning in sorry shape and praise be, i did not. But anyway, a nice girl named Lucy is going to come over and we're going to help each other learn to skate and yeah.

I need to look for an apartment is what.

Hey! I got my oil changed! It ruled.

Hey also, I don't know if you knew this but like.. LA has some really nice weather. You walk outside and it feels like the nicest day you can remember. And then you walk outside the next day and it feels the exact same way. I mean, sure sure, seasons and all that etc but like: it's fucking NICE out. I mean maybe i'd bitch about seasons if i wasn't 6 hours from Mammoth, or if i lived somewhere where the sole forecast was Monsoon but like... I'll be really surprised if you catch me complaining about the weather out here. Or the radio. OH FANNY THE RADIO. How come DC of all places couldn't have amazing radio? They should have the world's best indie station and at least a competitive Hip Hop/R&B station to NY and LA, but man. Shit's assy. CHOCOLATE FUCKING CITY, know what i mean? And yet I don't think I knew what radio sunshine felt like til i got here.

I will however complain about the smog. Right here and right now, I will tell you: smog is not dope.

And maybe I will complain about earthquakes some day.

Hey also: did you know you can answer a cell phone in a restaurant here and not get shot? It's the strangest thing.
