I feel compelled to say -- even though it's completely fucking obvious, though some people seem to tend to forget -- that if people are going to argue that there should be no federal funding for stem cell research because "their tax dollars" should not support anything they're not morally in synch with... then man, I can write you a long, winding LIST of all the shit I'd like "my tax dollars" not to go towards. I don't want my tax dollars being spent to incarcerate drug addicts, I don't want my tax dollars going to support illegal wars in other countries, I don't want my tax dollars paying Bush's salary while he goes on vacation every fuckin week, I don't want my tax dollars paying Antonin Scalia to rape the fucking constitution, and I definitely do not want any of my tax dollars funding any execution chamber anywhere in this country, nor funding the system that sends people there with sleeping defense lawyers. So fuck a nut and get over yourself, welcome to representative democracy.
