Effects of Olestra on DC's anus. Also, chen says she loves Juno about 86 times.

Dear Everyone:

I love Juno.

Love, Mary Chen.

So friday me and marc nelson saw a bhuto dance performance at the lisner. It was beautiful, but parts of it went a little too slow for my tired self. In general, it looked like it was a lot more interesting to perform than it was to watch, but it was still pretty damn captivating and gave me and marc lots to think about for next year's show.

But Saturday night was one of those nights that makes me whisper to myself over and over and over "i am SO glad i moved to DC. i am SO glad i moved to DC. i am SO glad i moved to DC." you get the point. Reason being that Oswego and Juno played a house show at my old house, known as Kansas. First of all, I didn't even realize who oswego was, all i knew was they were from around here but fucking duh, it was erik and darren from kerosene 454 and ryan nelson from the most secret method and two other people i didn't recognize but that don't mean shit. First of all, ryan was playing GUITAR in one song, plus he was singing backups, plus he was playing all sorts of additional percussion including at one point busting out a kickdrum and manually beating it, really really hard and yet completely and totally precisely. Why? cause he's ryan fucking nelson motherfucker! Anyway, he's not permanently a fixture cause he has to devote his time to the MSM but i was glad i got to see it. And, duh, how can i not even have mentioned yet, they were fucking AMAZING! i was trying to think of words to describe them as they played but i really couldn't do it, and then i got sick of trying cause i wanted to just sit back and listen and dance my ass off. oh kids, i hope they have a record or something out soon cause you're gonna be so psyched. See and here's why i love DC: oswego is just like, poof, new amazing band that is BORN amazing and it's all right here. Truly good, like talented, good bands, leak from the anus of DC like so much olestra. Man you don't even have to try to be happy here, musically. You can't fucking help it.

Then Juno played and i felt like such an emo patsy but i couldn't help it i just love them SO MUCH. individually and as a group, and it made me so so so so so so so happy to see them having a really good show that they enjoyed so much and the whole house was just filled with love and happiness and good good rock, and the cops didn't close it down, and famous rock stars that don't normally show up for kansas shows were there and how cool is that, and the whole place just shook with joy, and i shook with joy and i danced so hard my hair fell down. maybe it was just me, but no, i know for a fact it wasn't. everyone loved that show, especially juno. I have never seen a person drum so hard in my life. it was fucking intense. intense and beautiful and i didn't wear earplugs and i still can't quite hear right but oh well. I can say for sure it was worth it.

the next day was pancakes and joy with juno and some really really really really good news for ann that maybe i will talk about here once it's more solidified, and the wearther, and i spent $50 on comics, which is like $20 worth of cheese but better, and jesus. i am so happy right now. in conclusion, juno rules.
