Shocking Tales of Brattiness, Hee Haw, and Chen is Torn.
13:57:03, 1999-12-06

Lalalalala. My coff is getting better. This weekend I went to Philly for first friday which was a blast cause Max's mom was there and regaled us with stories from when she was a producer on Hee Haw. No joke. Also, she's a lawyer and a crazy feminist. Love her.

Saturday night was Lungfish, the Ex, and Fugazi at the Electric Factory. I couldn't see shit. My rock star friends all had fancy stickers and got to watch from the stage but I had to watch it all on TV cause I am not a rock star. The problem with watching Fugazi on TV is that there's no real way to see Guy's butt. I was salty about it and I made no secret of it. I am a brat. Soon afterwards I was trying to think of what exactly I expected my friends to do differently and I really couldn't think of anything reasonable so now I am over it. What was the other bratty thing i did, i know there was one... Oh i can't remember.

I like boys with big, useful vocabularies.

I went to Jim and Becky's on Sunday before i left and Becky is my next favorite painter after Jim. She paints portraits and she was working on this one of a skinny boy with a wife-beater sunburnt onto his skin and it made me want to hug her. Then I did hug her and it was everything I'd hoped for. Oh wait Max is also my next favorite painter after Jim. Now I am all confused.

Oh yeah saturday night after fugazi I went to a party at Ralph's. There were 6 trillion beautiful boys there, and like 5 girls TOTAL and you know what? I still didn't talk to a single goddamn new boy. It just didn't happen. Oh well, i danced and danced.

I had one real good conversation this weekend about this whole thing where companies hire graffiti artists on the DL to wheat paste or put up stickers for them, and I was saying how I think it's inherently lame for companies to co-opt underground movements and like, what if Nike started paying kids to tag Nike, know what I mean? But at the same time, I have a hard time condemning it because i have some friends who make some really good money doing it and I am sort of default In Favor of my friends you know, eating. So I'm torn.
