And before that...

So the Nader people finally called me back yesterday and I went in to volunteer last night. I photocopied a whole, whole lotta checks. But.. for the left! Anyway, it really was kinda dope, I've never been anywhere near any political campaigns before and the people there are so hardcore, they really give up their lives for months while the campaign goes on, and a lot of what they're doing is not even remotely interesting, like, uh, photocopying checks for four hours. It was strange though... after the first few when I had my little system down and got into my zen xeroxing groove, I was thinking about how cool it was that all of these people were sending in money to the Nader campaign and they were all so enthusiastic, including little notes or articles... and I was like "man, i am so honest to god happy to be here photocopying checks for ralph nader" and then I had the most chilling, depressing thought:

Somewhere, at that very moment, someone was equally excited to be doing some mundane task for the Bush campaign.

Isn't that fucking sick?

Especially since like, I'm right and they're wrong. You know?
