DOWN WITH SINUS INFECTIONS! A pox on them, to be exact. This weekend I packed, but it was fun packing cause Mars came to town. She packed my whole kitchen, among other things; best friends rule, and not just cause of the free menial labor. We saw "Bring it On" for kicks. It was PG-13, what did we want, right? There was a fantastic moment though, where the "punk rock" protagonist boy interest in the film is shown reading "The Naked Ape" by Desmond Morris who is me and mars' like, second favorite anthropologist! It was rad. Plus the toothbrushing scene. Plus the cheerleading in it was 36 times better than any of the stuff i've caught on ESPN. And trust me: I have caught it on ESPN. More than once. And didn't change the channel. But the movie couldn't seem to decide if cheerleaders sucked or ruled; it seemed like it was written by at least four different monkeyswithtypewriters, all on different diets. But it did make clear that kirsten dunst rules regardless. Though she'd rule harder with about 10 or 20 more pounds to throw around. Man, sinus infections make everything suck. My sammich isn't even any good. Anyway everything is under control with packing and arranging for the move. I even get to go see David Wilson in Columbia, MO for a night. I'm being boring. I had some sudafed, which was pointless. Nothing seems real right now, which sucks cause i'm at work and work is very very real. I don't want it to be real but it's proving to not be a matter of choice. I'm supposed to tell a few people everything i know about the AOL member directory infrastructure (and it's slightly more urgent than it would be because the developer quit a few weeks ago and the project manager is new) and I think the problem i'm having with that task is that it is absolutely no fun whatsoever. That and I really just want to hit the road and get on with it and never ever ever speak of TCL or adbswitchers ever again. Anyway, I had my review last Thursday, how funny is that. They gave me a fat raise, like 14%, and I was all like "oh how cute, they probably just did that for fun so I'd at least regret leaving a little tiny bit (cause they KNOW i don't)" but it turns out the raise was approved before i gave notice. So that's touching, that i earned a 14% raise in the year i feel like i slacked beyond the boundaries of human capabilities. Either that or it means i was drastically underpaid this past year in which case WHAT THE FUCK? Either way it will be interesting to see what happens when I actually have a job i give a shit about. Speaking of, we could open a round of Twenty Questions for those who don't know me to guess what I'm going to be doing in L.A. Send em in if you think that would be fun. If you don't think that would be fun, send me mail about how not fun that would be, and how much my site sucks since I sold out and moved to L.A. (props to patrick). Then I'll laugh at you (you, not patrick, because his complaint was nice) because I haven't even moved yet, not to mention, how DOES one sell out to a degree greater than working for AOL?, and I will talk about how unobservant you are and how you must not have done so well in the reading comprehension bits of all the standardized tests. Perhaps I will make a crack about your breath. But in the end, as at all times, I will be triumphant. And you, what will you be? You will be nothing. NOTHING. I WILL BE ON SUDAFED, BUT YOU WILL STILL BE YOU. Ok, so twenty questions. Your first and only hint is: It is the number one dream job of Mary Chen. Word. And one other piece of info that i will provide cause a few of you have asked is that I am currently (until Thursday) a QA engineer at AOL, which means i set up tests for invisible software processes and then i find bugs in them. annnnnd, Go.
